WONDERLAND

megan has been performing since the age of two and a half and has been involved with the running of performng arts activity clubs since 2008. she graduated from queen mary university of london in 2019 with a bachelor of arts degree in english and drama and later that year set up miniver theatre company with fellow graduate andrei cotocu.

her show at this stage debuted at the edinburgh fringe festival in 2019 before going on to tour the south of england and in 2022, the sell out show love you & leave you (dead) - also written by megan - was performed at the new wimbledon theatre studio in london. ​the twelve dancing princesses - a full length pantomime written by megan - was performed in 2021 at the sheffield college.
​
after living in edinburgh for two years, megan moved back close to home and to continue her love of performance, writing for stage, and teaching through miniver academy.
Meet the team
Megan young

Julie has been involved in amateur dramatics since the age of three, both on stage and offstage. Throughout her theatre journey, she has taken on many leading roles alongside stage management and a wide range of behind-the-scenes responsibilities.
​
Julie’s favourite roles include Erma in Anything Goes, the Tin Man in The Wizard of Oz, and starring as the Principal Boy, Aladdin, in the pantomime Aladdin—a role she has performed three times (oh yes she has)!
​
She currently works as a Gymnastics and Trampolining development officer at Killamarsh and Clay Cross Active, and is thoroughly enjoying combining her passion for teaching and drama through Miniver Academy.
​
Julie loves working with young children and supporting their development through creativity, movement, and performance.
JULIE BALLIN

​Emily has been taking part in shows since the age of three, being involved in a range of productions. She loves acting and singing but most importantly dancing. Emily loves working with children, sharing her passion for dance, and helping others grow in confidence and creativity.
​
Her favourite roles that she has played so far are Marta (The Sound of Music), Sharon (Made in Dagenham), Tweedle Dum (Alice in Wonderland), and Duffy (Annie).
​
She has experience choreographing for school productions and is now taking on the role of choreographer and drama teacher for Miniver Academy which she is thoroughly enjoying.
​
She is currently studying Childhood Studies at Chesterfield College and has gained experience working in nurseries and primary schools, which has led to a strong interest in supporting children with special educational needs.
Emily BALLIN

​Charlotte has been involved in theatre since she fell in love with the topic in year 7. She graduated with a BA in Acting with the Bath School of Acting and an MA in Professional Voice Practice at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. From this, she's been a part of some exciting theatre-based workshops, such as having a certificate in stage combat.​
​
Charlotte is also a trained teacher and after working in education, specialising in SEND, she is returning to her love of the stage working at Sheffield Theatres and creating shows, most recently taking Paranormal Accounts from the Graveyard Knitting Club to Buxton Fringe. Previous shows include The Forgotten Blitz, which was on BBC radio, and The Neat Freak which toured the UK in 2019 and 2021. ​

Charlotte loves combining her passion of teaching with her passion of theatre at Miniver academy!
CHARLOTTE RIVERS

EVIE HAS BEEN PERFORMING ONSTAGE SINCE THE AGE OF TWO, STARTING WITH DANCE DRONFIELD AND THEN PERFORMING IN SCHOOL SHOWS, DRAMA DRONFIELD, AND DRONFIELD MUSICAL THEATRE GROUP.
​
HER FAVOURITE ROLE SHE HAS EVER PLAYED was GRETL IN THE SOUND OF MUSIC.
​
SHE HAS EXPERIENCE CHOREOGRAPHING SCHOOL PRODUCTIONS AND IS NOW AN ASSISTANT DRAMA TEACHER FOR MINIVER ACADEMY WHICH SHE IS VERY EXCITED ABOUT.
​
SHE IS CURRENTLY STUDYING ENGLISH LITERATURE, HISTORY, AND PSYCHOLOGY AS SHE WISHES TO BECOME AN EDUCATIONAL PSYCHOLOGIST.
Evie Welsby

Jack has been involved in productions from the age of nine, taking on principal roles at school, Drama Dronfield, and Dronfield Musical Theatre Group—including playing the lead character of Oliver in Oliver! The Musical which is his favourite role to date. Since then, he has also played Friedrich (The Sound of Music) and Mendel (Fiddler on the Roof), and the title role of Dick in Dick Whittington.
​
He started volunteering at Miniver Academy as part of his college work experience and is now Head Technician of Lighting and Sound (and everything else technical).
​
He is currently studying Technical Theatre and Stage Management at university.​
